IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in visiting our classroom in person, please call or email our preschool office. We would love to give you a tour! Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year begins in February and our annual Spring Open House will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 5:30-7pm In the meantime, we hope this video (link found at the bottom of this page) introduces you to our classroom and may answer questions that you have.

Throughout the school year we use a thematic approach. Some of the lesson planning tools that we may use include The Creative Curriculum, Handwriting Without Tears and AlphaTales. We will tie pieces of these resources to our monthly themes and activities. Typically, each theme will last two weeks, with some longer and some shorter. As we teach basic concepts related to a particular theme, they will be extended into art, music, centers, language, manipulative, and Jesus time.

At Shepherd’s Flock, we believe in the development and nurturing of the “whole-child.” This approach to teaching supports all the areas of your child’s development. Our goal is to provide activities and experiences throughout the year which will help your preschooler grow emotionally, socially, cognitively, creatively and physically. Most importantly, as your child grows in all these areas, we want them to know that they have a Shepherd, Jesus, that loves and cares for them, and who is always with them.

To nurture your child’s spiritual development, we will be reading Bible stories, praying, singing, and talking to one another about God’s great love for us. Pastor Baumgarn, our pastor at Shepherd of the Hills, will also join us twice a month to share God’s love with us. Families are invited to join us anytime as we share stories and songs with the children. Our preschool families can check the monthly calendar for dates and times.

We love singing and music at Shepherd’s Flock. Music is a great way for children to explore, gain confidence and start to feel comfortable with their preschool surroundings. As a staff, we will make each week an adventure and create “wonders” for your child to learn and grow. We will be teaching the children how much Jesus loves each of them and will remind them that Jesus is always with them and lives in their hearts.
