WELCOME TO SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS WHERE WORDS OF TRUTH ARE SPOKEN!
The following information will help acquaint you to our church:
WE’RE A LITURGICAL CHURCH
Shepherd of the Hills is a liturgical church, which means that our worship service follows a set script. Elements of the service include hymns, an Old Testament Lesson, an Epistle Lesson (taking from the New Testament), Gospel Lesson and sermon. In addition, confession, creeds, a children’s message, prayers and responsive songs and text are integral parts of the service. If you’re unfamiliar with this style of worship, the worship service is projected at the front of the church, or you can follow along with bulletin or liturgy which appears in our hymnal.
WHEN YOU ENTER
Ushers are stationed at the entryway to the sanctuary. They will hand you a worship folder (which includes our order of service, Bible readings, contact information, announcements, and upcoming events), and answer any questions you may have. The service will begin with a hymn and worshipers are asked to stand as the cross is brought down the aisle.
